Immigrant stories

Is there a collection of immigration/immigrant stories here on the NUESTROS RANCHOS page/site? (If so, how do I go about finding them?) Stories of how an ancestor or parent migrated to the U.S.; how and when did they travel?; why did they come to the U.S.?; how long did it take?; did they come alone or in a group?; where in the U.S. did they eventually settle?

A most important trip

I made a trip to my ancestor´s town. I claim it to be very fortunated because is the result of a bunch of diggins. I did found a hidden treasure: the getting a hug from my mother´s side of long time absence. This means, my fellows group, I just met two of my mother´s siblings and a bunch of cousins.

Family search

My name is Paula and I am searching maternal grandparents and back two generations. I am looking for --Castorena/Macias-----Hernandez/ Castorena and Hernandez/Guerra.. The records I have ( all from Mormon Family History site ) show these families in Aguacalientes, Zacatecas and Jalisco. Do these names sound familiar to anyone ?

Joseph - Link to Colotlan Parade Photos

Joseph,

Why doesn't this link work when we send it to "reply"? Is it up in the Ranchos website files?

George R. Ryskamp interview on Roots Television

I hadn't checked the Roots Television site in a while, so I'm not sure how long this has been on. In this program, host Sharon DeBartolo Carmack interviews George R. Ryskamp, author of "Finding Your Hispanic Roots" (4-part interview; interview preceded by a commercial). Check the interview here:

Ojo de Agua and Catarina Jauregui Revisted

This is an answer to an old question I had about the origin of Catarina Jauregui, a search tip and some thank yous. I think I have found the answer to Ojo de Agua on the Marriage of Catarina Jauregui and Julian Alviso. Ojo de Agua was a rancho in the jurisdiction of Tepatitlan.
