Hello. I am new to the site and want to introduce myself. I am researching my family lines from Zacatecas.

Since my grandparents came from a "rancho", but died too early to share their experiences or descriptions in Mexico....I always deduced that a "rancho" was a parcel of land that usually had "animales"

After 9 years of working on records, I came across "coiota" for the first time today. Thanks to a Portuguese-language web site's footnote I now know that it means media-mestiza/media-india.
