Does anyone recall where in Mexico, in the early settlement days. that there were some documents in the churches serving indigenous people that were in the language of the Indians of that locality?

In my research, I have encountered a baptism record that indicates a child (possibly my 3rd G-grandfather) was abandoned at the house of a woman in Guadalajara in 1781.

Pre 1682 bapismal records for Ayotlan.
FamilySearch currently has baptismal records until 1682 for Ayotlan. However, there are some references to there being baptismal records back until 1622.
