Finding lost family

I just wanted to share something wonderful that has happened because I post my files on Rootsweb.com.

I was contacted by a lady who said she had found out she was a Castanon by birth and was searching for her fathers line even though she never met him and was brought up by a step father. She said they were from Cutler and Dinuba Ca. and since my gr-grandparents, Vicente Castanon and Maria Gertruds Caldera, had lived there until their deaths in the 1940s I felt there must be some kind of connection. I contacted a cousin who grew up there and she was able to contact someone who knew who this lady was and is putting her in contact with half brothers and sisters she didn't know she had. She is very excited and happy to be able to find the missing part of her family of origin. I don't know how it will work out but at least she gets a chance to find out.

Diego Lopes de Nava

I am trying to find information on Diego Lopes de Nava and Juana Gertrudes Flores.

He was born about 1720/30, probably in Aguascalientes, and married Juana Gertrudes Flores. They had at least one child, Maria Teresa Lopes de Nava, who married Jose Pantaleon Sandoval (date unknown); she died 14 Jul 1786, and was buried at Nuestra Sra. de Guadelupe, Aguascalientes. Jose Pantaleon Sandoval married again in 1787, Maria Ignacia Lopes de Nava (daughter of Jose Eulogio Lopes de Nava and Maria Antonia Romo de Vivar).

While we are on the subject of books and historians, does anyone know if
there are any books on Yahualica or Cuquio, Jalisco? Or on Nochistlan,
Zac?

Orden Imperial de Guadalupe

Dear Grupo,
I came across this online: Orden Imperial de Guadalupe Establecida conforme al Decreto de la Junta Soberana Provincial Gubernativa de 20 de Febrero de 1822 confirmada el 11 de Julio del mismo ano. Does anyone know what this refers to? Thanks so much for your help. Alice BB

Connections & Family Search Pilot Website

Hi, Everyone:

I am sorry I do not contribute very often. While I have made some very
important and significant connections with those with whom I share a common
ancestor (thanks to this forum), my area of research and family is not
