Tlajomulco, Guadalajara trip

By nbperez - Posted on 17 January 2012

Thank you so much to: Linda, Mickey, Angelina, Alicia, Raquel
& Veronica for your advice and recommendations for hotels
in the Guadalajara area. I am especially grateful to
Veronica who lives near Tlajomulco and volunteered guidance
in my search.
Dr. Francisco Sanchez Flores, born in Tlajomulco in 1910, was
known as "Pancho Panelas" in the mariachi & folkloric dance world.
He was also a noted painter of indigenous art and I believe has artwork
in exhibition in the Regional Museum in Guadalajara. I would love to
visit a cultural center named after him in Tlajomulco, as well as a
school. Maybe Veronica could find their locations for me as it would
be very exciting to see them. As mentioned, just walking the same
streets as did our ancestors is a very spiritual, special feeling, which
I experienced when I went to El Paso in search of my cousin. With the
help of this wonderful group, my trip should be very productive.
Thanks to you all - Nancy
