Family Search

I was trying to use Family Search on a computer with Windows XP and IE 7. For all practical purposes it does not work.

I went to google, searched for Firefox, and downloaded the current version. This relatively quick, but depends on your internet connection.

I did the standard installation (essentially just follow the instructions: press the "run" button). Started Firefox, searched for Family Search, and everything worked without any problems.

When you install Firefox, you have the option of importing your IE favorites (or bookmarks), although I didn't do this.

I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. The website worked without any problems.

Bottom line: Family Search is not compatible with the older software.
