NANCY BLANCHE GUERRERO INTRODUCTION
FOR NUESTROS RANCHOS

My name is Nancy Blanche Guerrero, and I have been researching my father's family for at least 10 years but have found NOTHING. I knew my grandmother, Alma Blanche (born about 1892, probably in Guadalajara, Mexico) until 1948 when she died in Los Angeles, but I never knew my grandfather, Gilbert Blanche. My father, Alfonso Blanche, born in 1912 didn't know where he was born. He had an older brother, Gilbert born about 1908, and two sisters: Concepcion b.1910 and Esperanza b.1914. Esperanza lived in Los Angeles about 1927-1930 but disappeared. My Dad never indicated knowing where she and his brother might have gone. Concepcion died in Los Angeles in 1932. I now believe there must have been a name change, perhaps to Blanco but I still haven't found any records pertaining to Blanco or Blanche. My grandmother's background, (Alma Blanche) remains a huge mystery.

However, after my Dad died I came across several old photographs with two major clues: an inscription with two names: Marcelina de S. Guerrero, the mother of Jesus Sanchez Guerrero, and a photo frame stamped Guadalajara. A family group photo includes my grandmother, about 16, probably her older and younger sisters, the man who is either Jesus or his older brother, Dr. Francisco Sanchez Guerrero, the matriarch Marcelina de S. Guerrero and 3 servants. I am beginning to think that maybe Francisco, born in 1860 in Guadalajara, may have been my grandmother's father, but am still searching for proof as I have not found a marriage record for him, nor a death certificate, although I know he died in 1924. My grandmother is holding a baby in a christening outfit, photo about 1908. Both Francisco and Jesus were doctors.

The 1930 Mexico census gave me very valuable information regarding Jesus' family. His oldest son (who also became a Dr.) Francisco Sanchez Flores (mother was Esther Flores) was born in 1910 in Tlajomulco, Jalisco, and died in 1989. I found amazing information on him on the internet as he was a very noted artist, and also influential in promoting original mariachi music resulting in today's Guadalajara mariachi festivals, and so much more.

However, I still need to find the connection of my grandmother, Alma Blanche with this family and would be ecstatic if someone had a clue. I need to know who my grandmother was before I can continue going backwards..
