Dear Friends and Primos:
Another busy month with election concerns and many Hispanic Heritage Month
activities running into Dia de los Muertos exhibits, lectures, and
festivities.
As you'll note on the opening page, Somos Primos is featuring an event to
be held at The Heritage Museum of Orange County, in Santa Ana, California.
The goal to promote public awareness that the 1849 California
Constitution,
was a Spanish/English bilingual document. California's population during
its growth into statehood was very diverse. Hopefully understanding
California's history will help to understand it's present status.
Closing with the words of Cyril James:
"A free man is as jealous of his responsibilities as he is of his
liberties."
Mimi
