Haciendas in Zacatecas - general questions

I am researching the Torres/Pasillas/Amaro/Hernandez families from the area of Valparaiso, Zac, and specifically from Hacienda el Mirador, Zac.

Are there any good histories, in English or Spanish, of the hacienda system in that region? It is my understanding that these haciendas emerged around 1850. Were the ranch hands in the area before that or did they emigrate to the haciendas from other regions?

Estoy investigando las familias de Torres/Pasillas/Amaro/Hernández que vivieron cerca de Valparaíso, Zac. Específicamente, los Torres y Amaro fueron del Hacienda el Mirador, Zac.

¿Hay buenas historias, en Inglés o Español, de la sistema de haciendas en esa región? ¿Es verdad que estas haciendas empezaron cerca de 1850? Fueron los trabajadores del rancho en el área antes de que o que emigran a las haciendas de otras regiones?
