Cristero movement in Los Altos de Jalisco

Hello -- I believe the following account refers to my great grandfather, Mariano Gutierrez, who was killed during the Cristero movement in San Miguel el Alto, Jal.

A las 11 de la mañana de este mismo día, salieron unos soldados a traer pastura al rancho Los Magueyes, a unos 3 Kms. al oriente de la población, donde encontraron al Sr. Mariano Gutiérrez, persona honrada y pacífica y sin motivo le dieron muerte, dejando huérfanos 13 hijos. [21 Nov 1927]

. . . naturally I went directly to the microfilms to view death records for this date. Unfortunately, on 22 Oct 1926, there is a page in the microfilmed book that I imagine explains why the records stopped at this point and did not commence until 1930. However, I am not able to interpret some of the words and some of the writing is not legible.

If there is an expert out in Nuestros Ranchos cyberspace who wants to take a shot at translating this document and/or providing any historical references, I would greatly appreciate it. I will send the scanned document to those that respond.
