My Tlaxcaltecos roots/surnames: Coahuila

By lunalatina1955 - Posted on 28 January 2010

Bermeo and Flores are the surnames that I have been able to trace to my
"Tlaxcalteco" roots. I have been able to go as far back to a marriage that
took place in Villa de Gegedo in 1762, where it states that the parents of
Thomas Bermeo and Juana Flores were originally from Nadadores and were
"indios tlacaltecos".

It appears that Thomas had a brother (Lucas) who was married to Maria
Andrea Flores - the brothers may have married sisters.

The parents of Thomas and Lucas Bermea were Gaspar Bermeo and Ma.
Candelaria de los Rios married about 1742 in Nadadores, Coahuila.

Because of what was mentioned in Thomas' marriage certificate, I am making
the assumption that "Rios" was also a surname used by my Tlaxcaltecan
roots.

I don't know if this helps anyone...but it just might help.

The other son, Lucas Bermeo who was married to married to Maria Andrea
Flores on Feb. 15,1768 in Villa de Gigedo

The mission settlement "Dulce Nombre de Jesús de Peyotes", later became as
Villa de Rosales and Villa de Gigedo, now known as Villa Union, Coahuila..

.

Their parents were Gaspar Bermeo and Ma. Candelaria de los Rios married
about 1742.

On the marriage record of Thomas Bermeo and Juana Flores it is mentioned
that They were "indios tlaxcaltecos" and their parents origin was
Nadadores,Coahuila, this is a small town close to Cuatro Cienegas.
