Padre Miguel Hidalgo y sus antepasados

Dear Jorge--

I have in my records that the second wife of Juan de San Pedro GALLAGA Mandarte was Juana de ACEVES born about 1704 in Ojo de Agua, Tepatitlan de Morelos, Jalisco.  She was the daughter of Pedro de ACEVES and Margarita GOMES de ESPEJO, who was baptised on 30 May 1663 in Ayo el Chico, Jalisco.  I do not have any children listed for Juan de San Pedro GALLAGA Mandarte and Juana de ACEVES.  Ana Maria GALLAGA was left an orphan and so I believe her father and step-mother died in the mid 1730s.  I have been to these areas a number of times.  They are part of Los Altos de Jalisco. 

I have also been to La Barca, Jalisco which is close to the Rio Lerma and on the border with Michoacan.  I wonder if Tepatilan could be considered part of La Barca, even in olden times, as these two areas are quite distant from one another and the land is not so similar.

I am off to research so will catch up with all the Padre Hidalgo news when I return.
