Montoya's from Colotlan

By Rose Hardy - Posted on 26 July 2009

I'm helping two cousins with their research and lo and behold found they both have Montoya's from Colotlan. Does anyone know of these families? Or the Madera's?

This is from the Aguascalientes records pilot site:

Joseph Montoya the son of Gregoio Montoya y Melchora Quintero. He married Maria de la Encarnacion Rubalcava, the daughter of Joseph Rubalcava y Petra de Soto on 29 Jan 1753 in Colotlan. (this is from my cousin and in my book)

Juan de Montoya of pueblo Colotlan of Diego de Montoya y Beatriz Madera difunta y Phelipa Delgado of Aguas. of Diego Delgado y Nicolasa Lopez de Lizaldi

Juan de Montoia of Aguas of Juan Montoia y Phelipa Delgado con Bernardina de Palos of Aguas of Matheo de Palos y Francisca Ximenes

Its funny because my direct line is Matheo de Fernandez de Palos and his wife Francisca Ximenes. I have one cousin that I'm related to about 15 times 11-12 generations back from the Los Altos region, wouldn't that make us siblings? LOL
