Hi Daniel and everyone,
Taking a moment to reply to Daniel concerning my maiden last name, de la O. This is my father's paternal last name and I have located an aunt who is doing research on the de la O Ortiz branch of the family. I'm extremely busy right now. My seven siblings and I are getting together in El Paso, Texas on August 1st to celebrate our Mom's 80th birthday. I was appointed the job of writing Mom's story and my husband is putting together a genealogical tree. We also collected as many pictures as possible to share with the family. As you can imagine this has become quite an undertaking. This project has taken over our lives for the past few months. Hopefully when we return from Texas in August, we'll to participate more fully in the information exchange for Nuestros Ranchos. We traveled to Mexico in April to meet aunts and uncles and they gave us so much valuable information that I definitely recommend that anyone doing genealogical research should travel to their
"motherland" and try to meet as many people as possible. My husband and I have been bitten by the genealogical bug. Finding new people just pushes us to find more. Next year, God willing, we'll be traveling to Zacatecas. In the meantime we will continue to send for films from LDS and I will post the film number and what it covers in case anyone is interested. We look forward to becoming more active in the near future.
