Luz Montejano's book: "Mitra de Guadalajara . . . "

Veronica,

Even as a somewhat impulsive bibliophile, I find the decision of buying a
specialty book to be highly personal with different motivations for each.

So, as to this book, let me just make a few comments for your
consideration::

It had a limited printing and is out-of-print and, therefore, not that
easy to obtain.
If you were to find an available copy, it may cost about $160 dollars to
purchase.
The book is the product and result of massive effort by its author. An
impressively comprehensive compilation of its 3-centuries subject
matter.Probably mandatory for the reference library of any professional
genealogist specializing in Nueva Galicia.
But, out of the 2 to 3 thousand ecclessiastical 'dispensations' and
'appeals' covered by this encyclopedic opus, a person doing research
limited to his/her family might only find a very few (at best, probably no
more than about a dozen entries) applicable to him/her.
Such a limited-use person would be best served by consulting the book at
some library, or asking a member of this forum with access to a copy to do
a courtesy "look-up."

If you fall in this latter category, and tell us where you live, I may be
able to suggest a location where you could read or borrow a copy for you to
peruse.

Saludos

Efrain
