Seriouly Considering a Policy Change

Hi, Joseph,

Most of us don't have a clue as to what it takes to be a moderator. If you are overwhelmed by the work, we don't blame you for wanting to cut down on the work, and you have to do what you have to do.

I think perhaps in future, it should be a steadfast rule that in order to be approved for the group, one must first submit at least a basic family tree, and if not, they should be able to tell what they know about their ancestors and what they hope to achieve. Surely everyone can do that, and they know enough about who some of their ancestors were and where their ancestors originated or they would not be desiring to join a genealogy group specific to Jalisco, Aguascalientes and Zacatecas (that formerly comprised most of Nueva Galicia).

It is great that you got the help of the most able Mr. Ramos to help you. Maybe you need an assistant moderator. I wish I was more computer literate, so I could help you. As it is, I spend so many hours a week at the local FHC and on the computer doing my own research and that of others that I sometimes feel overwhelmed too. Metimos la pata, as my husband would say.

I think the three points for qualification to membership in the group that you set down are fine.
